Unable to save document to Alfresco via Office Add-Ins (using CIFS connection)

      Alfresco 3.2 Labs build 1984 Stack 1 2x nodes cluster using RHEL 5.2, Tomcat 6.0.18, MySQL 5.1.31, JDK 6u14, JGroups TCP, Windows XP, FF3

      Description

      1. Install Office Addins;
      2. Open Microosft Word (Excel, Powerpoint) and configure Alfresco Add-Ins filling in settings for CIFS;;
      3. Create any document;
      4. Go to Action section on any appropriate tab and press 'Save to Alfresco' link;
      5. Enter a document file name (e.g. "test") and press 'Ok' button--> Error occurs (see screenshot attached) and the document is not saved to Alfresco
      6. Clear settings for CIFS and try to save a doc to Alfresco-> The doc is saved

      Expected result:
      No error occurs and the document is saved successfully to Alfresco

            It's not clear if you're using WebDAV or CIFS.

            If WebDAV, make sure basic WebDAV is working ok with Office - i.e. can you File / Save As to a WebDAV path using the native Office menus?

            Please see the attachments with settings when 'Save to Alfresco' works ok and where 'Save to Alfresco' leads to the error.
            WebDAV is working ok with Office as I can File / Save As to a WebDAV path using the native Office menus successfully.

            It's not clear whether CIFS is working ok from the client in this failure case or not?

            If the CIFS setting is cleared, the add-in will fallback (correctly) to webdav.

            Suspect this is a duplicate issue whereby CIFS is configured, but not actually working.

            This issue was reported against an unsupported version of Alfresco Community Edition.

            Alfresco 5.1will is nearing release, and contains many improvements that address old problems. We are closing old issues so that we can better prioritize our efforts.

            If you verify that the issue still exists in at Early Access release of Alfresco 5.1, please reopen the issue. If you have any trouble reopening the issue, then leave a comment or email us at community@alfresco.com so that we can assist.
