Alfresco 4.2.d categories corrupting in share

    • Type: Bug

    • Resolution: Fixed
    • Affects Version/s: 4.2
    • Fix Version/s: 4.2.5

    • Environment:
2 Centos 6.4 servers (primary and hot backup) that contain tomcat, alfresco and SOLR. Using unison to keep the alf_data folders in sync
2 Centos 6.4 Servers running MySQL 5.5 for the alfresco database (Master and replication slave)

After uploading a fair amount of files, sometimes as many as 3000 in one session, the categories seem to lose their links to the folders and documents. We also get a different looking message no items (see no content found corrupted category.png) and opposed to the normal message of No Content Found. But if I go into the alfresco application the categories work correctly. If I go and edit the rule for applying a category that seems corrupted to a folder, when I click edit I find that the category is no longer selected for the Link To Category action. If I select that category again and re run the rule it does not fix the issue. However if I delete the category in the alfresco application then re add it and go back to the share application, edit the rule, select the category to link to and run the rule, it gets fixed, sometimes permanently, sometime temporarily. I have performed a full rebuild on the SOLR index with mixed results, some of the categories that weren't working start working and others that were working sometimes break.

I have tried looking in the alfresco.log, solr.log and share.log files and find no reference to the categories in any of them. Do i need to turn on more logging for this, if so how do I do that and which log file should I be looking in?
