Incorrect site handling in Outlook client by Alfresco Administrator and Site Manager

    • Type: Service Pack Request
    • Status: Closed
    • Resolution: Fixed
    • Affects Version/s: 4.2.4
    • Fix Version/s: 4.2.5
    • Component/s: IMAP, Upgrades
    • Labels:
    • Environment:
Client: Outlook 2010 on Windos 7 and Firefox 34
Server: Ubuntu1204, 2x CPUs and 8 GB RAM; Alfresco v4.2.4

Alfresco Administrator and Site Manager are able to move IMAP folder of Site A, e.g. IMAP folder of Site B in Outlook client.
This breaks search for content of Site A at Share UI. Further the Site A can't be found on Site's search and disappears from
"My Sites" dashlet of Site's creator.

      [Steps to reproduce]:
1.) Set up vanilla 4.2.4 instance
2.) Login as admin user to Alfresco
3.) Create two sites called Site A and Site B
4.) Go to admin user's Homepage and verify that both Sites are visible at "My Sites" dashlet
5.) Now click on IMAP favorite button for both sites.
6.) Upload some dummy content to Site B
7.) Now go to Microsoft Outlook client on Windows 7 system and verify that the admin user is able to see Site A and
      Site B's IMAP folders.
8.) Try to move Site B's IMAP folder into Site A's IMAP folder
9.) User will be able successfully to move the Site B's IMAP folder into Site A's IMAP folder
10.) Now log in as admin to Share again and go to "My Sites" dashlet
11.) Verify that if the admin is able to see Site B on his "My Sites" dashlet
12.) After the IMAP folder of Site B has been moved in Outlook the admin user can't see the Site anymore
13.) Browse to Site A view the Repository view. You will find Site B as folder there
14.) Search for Site B via Sites -> Site Finder. You won't find the Site anymore
15.) Search for content uploaded to Site B previously. You won't find the content.

      [Expected Behaviour]:
A safety precaution is required here. Admin and Site Manager should be limited in the permission to move IMAP folders within the
      Outlook client.

      [Observed Behaviour]:
Moving IMAP folder of a Site X to IMAP folder of Site Y breaks accessibility of moved Site in Share.

      [Analysis to date]:
1.) Issue can be reproduced on v4.2.4 with Outlook 2010 on Windos 7
2.) Few screenshots attached demonstration behaviour
