Requesting method for Share forms to inherit other forms' components

When defining type UI forms in Share there is not a supported way to have it inherit a form defined for a parent type. This requires copying all the XML configs for the parent type and then making changes introduced by the sub-type. The resulting multiple copies of the parent type’s form configuration is a maintenance problem and prone to introduce errors over time. Can Alfresco create a method for Share forms to inherit parent forms' components?
