Customer upgraded to a new version of Alfresco over the weekend. The new system is on a different server.

After upgrade, the upgraded Alfresco has a different host and port value so the Share login url is change as following:

Customer wants to know whether there is a way to update ALL existing site links which is pointing to pre-upgrade Alfresco Share content location to point to the new Share host/port in site links path.

      For example,

Support findings shows that there is no simple way to globally update existing site links' path value to only update <host> and <port> value during/post Alfresco upgrade.

Current two available methods to make such changes are:

      1. Manual update each site links via Share UI. This would be time consuming task and inefficient method when customer have large amount of site links to change. Reference: http://docs.alfresco.com/5.0/tasks/links-edit.html
      2. Create a custom javascript and update all affected site links programmatically with RESTful API call. Reference: http://docs.alfresco.com/5.0/references/RESTful-LinksLinksPut.html

There is unfortunately no sample javascript/documentation with step by steps instruction on how to accomplish this task programmatically in bulk post upgrade. Customer will need to write their own custom javascript for this update site link task if they would like to make the changes programmatically.

Reporting this for feature request to allow globally update the site links path value. If not a valid feature request, then a documentation should be provide step-by-step instruction to efficiently handle this post upgrade issue.
