Customer upgraded to a new version of Alfresco over the weekend. The new system is on a different server.
After upgrade, the upgraded Alfresco has a different host and port value so the Share login url is change as following:
- Pre-upgrade Share URL: http://alfrescoOldHostName/share
- Post-upgrade Share URL: http://alfrescoUpgradedHostName/share
Customer wants to know whether there is a way to update ALL existing site links which is pointing to pre-upgrade Alfresco Share content location to point to the new Share host/port in site links path.
- Old site link path
- what the site links path need to update to be
Support findings shows that there is no simple way to globally update existing site links' path value to only update <host> and <port> value during/post Alfresco upgrade.
Current two available methods to make such changes are:
- Manual update each site links via Share UI. This would be time consuming task and inefficient method when customer have large amount of site links to change. Reference: http://docs.alfresco.com/5.0/tasks/links-edit.html
Reporting this for feature request to allow globally update the site links path value. If not a valid feature request, then a documentation should be provide step-by-step instruction to efficiently handle this post upgrade issue.
