      Description

A customer is looking at the possibility of using Oracle's DBFS as the underlying filesystem for their contentStore.

This presents itself to the operating system as a standard mount, and at a basic level, there don't seem to be many areas of concern for us.

There are specific file operations that DBFS doesn't support however, so my question is:

Does Alfresco use any of the following operations on the contentStore?
IOCTL, locking, memory mapped files, async IOs, O_DIRECT file opens, hard links

I've gone through the FileContentStore class and can't find anything that suggests that we might use any of the above - as far as I can see, we only use standard java.io.File operations, but clarification would be appreciated.

Note - I am not letting the customer use DBFS for the indexes, we're just investigating the useability for the contentStore.

      thanks,

      Andy
