Type: Service Pack Request
Status: Open (View Workflow)
Affects Version/s: 5.2.3, 5.2.4, 6.1
Environment:ACS - 5.2.3
Application Server - Tomcat
Browser - Internet Explorer 11, Google Chrome, Firefox
Client - Windows 7, Windows 8, MacOSX
**Summary of the issue**
Copying a document from a folder to the same folder in Alfresco Share site document library or repository, appends the Japanese translated text " のコピー" after the file extension (" のコピー" translates to "Copy of"). This occurs when the client machine use Japanese OS or Browser language/locale is set to Japanese etc.
The issue can be reproduced in various browsers such as IE11, Google Chrome & Firefox. Please note that when the file is copied and renamed as part of the "Copy To" action it introduces a whitespace character after the file extension and then appends the text "のコピー"
**Steps to reproduce**
1) Startup ACS 5.2.3 or 5.2.4. Navigate to Alfresco Share Site document library/ Repository and upload/create a test document named "Copy testing.txt"
2) Add Japanese language in the browser. In Google Chrome go to -> Settings -> Languages -> Add languages -> Select "Japanese" from the list
3) Refresh or reload the Alfresco Share page that contains the file created in Step 1. Use the Copy To action to the copy the document, in the Copy dialog select the same folder as the destination.
4) A new file is created in the folder and the name of the file is like - "Copy testing.txt のコピー"
When a file is copied to the same folder in Alfresco Share, the new file should contain the "のコピー" (translates to "Copy of") at the beginning of the filename not after the file extension and it shouldn't introduce any white space characters after the file extension. Ideal filename must be like "のコピー Copy testing.txt"
When the file is copied to the same folder in Alfresco Share, the text " のコピー" is appended after the file extension.
This issue is related to MNT-20384, where the white space after file extension is caused by this Copy issue.
