SVN to Git Migration Phase 2 (/alfresco)

    Details

SVN to Git Migration Phase 2

      Description

As a Developer, I want to manage all source code I need to work on in Git. This includes the history on all relevant code branches so that I can track back why a change has been made and cherry-pick or reverse single commits.

      Acceptance criteria:

      • The /alfresco project has been migrated to git
      • The new repo has been pushed to git.alfresco.com
      • Permissions on the new repo have been set up properly
      • For all important branches, it has been validated that a checkout in Git gives the same files as a SVN checkout
      • The dev env scripts have been updated to use Git instead of SVN
      • SVN has been set to read-only mode, except for the branches that are still active. It should not be possible to create new projects in SVN (whitelist of active projects instead of blacklist of inactive projects)
      • Any incremental changes (since the migration started) have also been migrated (see notes in REPO-2243)
      • All Bamboo build plans have been changed to use Git checkouts instead of SVN
      • All developers in Alfresco are aware of the new Git repository
      • A brown bag has been hold to explain (1) the structure of the new repo, (2) how to access and commit code and (3) how to switch existing dev env checkouts from SVN to git
