Remove folder names from document library URLs
A customer wants to bookmark Share folder content views in their web browser. The URLs for these views contain the folder names, like this:
eg. for: Share -> Repository -> a_folder
The problem is that, if the folder names are changed, the bookmarks are broken.
The customer is asking for the folder URLs to use some other identifier, eg. noderef, which is not changeable and won't cause the bookmarks to break.
Is it possible to implement something the same as the ID described in
The customer has rejected my suggestion of a link to Folder Details page as a workaround because their end users have to remember to click in the breadcrumb to see the folder contents.
Share "My Favourites" is also not an option because Repository Browser -> "My Favourites" is different from a site's Document Library -> My Favourites; when the user views a site "My Favourites" they won't be able to see their Repository favourites, although the names of the views are the same, so they will be confused.
