[ACE-3936] User can edit properties on locked document in Share (e.g. while being edited online) Created: 16-Apr-15  Updated: 17-Sep-15  Resolved: 17-Sep-15

Status: Closed
Project: Alfresco One Platform
Component/s: Document Library, Share Application
Affects Version/s: 5.1

Alfresco 5.1.0 (r101087-b33) schema 9,003
Redhat6.5 X64 PostgreSQL 9.3.6 Tomcat 7.0.59 Java 8 u31
Alfresco+OpenLDAP 2.4.39, Schema 2
Windows 7 x64, IE 10, Office 2010

Steps to reproduce:
1. Log in as any user;
2. Create any site;
3. Upload *.docx document to the Site Document Library (e.g. test.docx);
5. Open an Office document with Edit Online;
6. When the document is opened click 'Edit Properties' and change the properties of the document and click save.

Actual result: Properties are changed and saved.

Expected Behaviour: If document has been open via 'Edit online' it shouldn't be possible to change properties of. Lock should be carried out.

NOTE: Copy, Move, Delete actions are available and it's possible to move and copy document. If you try to delete locked file -> "file_name successfully deleted" message is appeared. The file is deleted. The locking mechanism is not working.

This behavior is not limited to cloud. You can see it on-prem as well.

The locking system works perfectly fine. It is intended that the lock owner has full control over the file.

But we can debate if it does make sense to hide certain actions in share (e.g. edit properties, move, delete, ...) while the file is locked.

Sent for PM review. Please assign this ticket to the share team if you want this changed.
